i'm a TEMP!!!!!

I am having quite a cold today, and that's all due to watching CowBoy Bebop at 5.30 in the morning. oh what the heck? It's good....

anyway, i'm a temp now, i work as a translator in some lecturer's house, with another tall auntie ( I rarely talked with my co-worker, cuz we're both in two separate rooms). Mrs Sofia, my boss has a home office, and she's in her office cum bedroom most of the time. I ignored most of the people in the room, and consequently I can't tell which girl's the maid and which is the boss' kids! After a few hours of eavesdropping I finally know that the girl I thought was a daughter is the maid; and the old woman I thought was the maid...is the boss' sister! (lucky I didn't ask her to 'bring me some coffee') The daughters are the little girls occasionally running around, playing hide and seek in my office. And oh, my office? It was formerly the maid's room. (that was lucky cuz the other temp's room is the nursery and the kids are occasionally running around picking up toys-very messy!)
Not much difficulty in translating manuals (I did 160+ pages of Nokia manual translated yesterday, and I have another I-don't-know-what-kinda-machine-was-it manual in waiting right now. I'd be there working right now if I don't have a cold. my boss' begging me to stay!)
She kept looking over my work every couple of hours, and I had to stop taking my mid-hourly snacks every time she passes by. she asked me this afternoon: can you handle it?

me: Why, of course (I DO, love translation, I don't know why but it used to be my dream job when I was ten. Now it's a fashion designer).
Boss: Well, some people can't stand this job.

Oh! that's why my work had some of it half-done (I think her former temp ran away. really! Earlier this April I came to her house to apply for the job, and she's like :I don't need a temp right now, I have her already.something like that. Hahaa!

oh, yes. About that dress.
I am happy to say that I am 90% done.
(but I found out that I don't fit in it like I used to two weeks ago. I'm gaining weight?!!?)
that's Okay, I'll lose weight...
it's not that easy to do a dress like that. Ask any fashion designer! The darts and mandarin collar are usually the hardest. they don't really recommend them in beginner's books.
Anyway, i had problems from the start. from the cutting to the layout to the zip (the final problem: after I fix the zip, it's ready to go!~provided that I'll need to lose weight first)
I had to stay up, the most until 4 pm, just to fix the dress. luckily my good old friend Animax Channel was there to accompany me. My brother, who's notorious for his nocturnal habits, has lately been off to bed early (tired after too much morning internet surfing, I bet).
it's hard to do it, you know. especially when mom has decided to do her own dress project! i had to reconfigure the sewing machine first, the de-configure it back before mom finds out. then i had no zip for my dress and I had to settle in for a tacky bright purple one! I had to sew, tack it out, and re-sew every time I did them wrong. After my third attempt i can't still get it quite right.

Giving up?

No.

I'm gonna make a dress so good that i'll have to wear it to my first day of class next sem.

So good that i'll have to post the picture here.

So good that people will be begging for my patterns! (get that, MOM!)

All I have to do now is re-tack the zip, re-sew them, make a concealed tack....

The problem is I have to wait for mom to retire early today (oh man, i hope she doesn't watch the late-night romance movies)

My boss is still offering me to work up to Sat. and Sun.. The companies are already asking for the manuals, she said, and it is long overdue. REAAALLLY long.
